The IB-MYP program encourages students to develop both inquiry and application skills in order to build problem-solving skills. At Tutoring Club, our MYP tutoring program helps MYP students develop problem solving skills to solve complex mathematical problems.
Our MYP math tutoring program includes the following math topics: Number, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, statistics, and probability. We teach students how to solve math problems based on the MYP mathematics framework.
The topics and skills in the MYP mathematics framework are organized into two levels of difficulty:
- Standard mathematics: provides students with a solid understanding of basic mathematical principles and also allows them to develop the skills needed to meet the MYP mathematics objectives
- Extended mathematics: includes more advanced topics that requires deeper understanding than the standard mathematics framework.
MYP Math Assessment Criteria
Criteria A, B, C, and D are the four assessment criteria used in the MYP math examination. Each criterion is graded on a scale of 1 to 8. Our IB MYP math tutors help students improve their problem-solving skills in accordance with each criteria.
MYP Tutoring Approach
The Tutoring Club approach for teaching students in the MYP math program includes
- Review of MYP Math concepts by explaining topics and providing examples and practice.
- MYP Math papers that simulates real examples of past MYP exams and grading scheme.
- Students are able to bring questions and issues faced during their normal course of study at school where our MYP tutors will explain these concepts in greater depth.
IB MYP Tutoring Support
We enroll students in our MYP tutoring program throughout the academic year. Students can register in the MYP program during the academic year or even in the summer. We start the students with an academic assessment to determine level, followed by a well-defined individualized program which is customized for every student.
